Dog Obedience Training Minneapolis

Hi Dale,

I just wanted to Thank You for enabling my Australian Shepherd, Duke, to become a “Social” dog. Through the dual use of your expert advice and training tools, Duke has changed his behavior from being dog aggressive (sometimes stranger aggressive too) to a dog that became a real pleasure to have around. Walks have certainly become more relaxed for both of us!

Please note that my veterinarian even noticed the change in his behavior and commended me on finding the “behavioral tools and training” that works for training Duke, a very smart and protective companion. I would be more than willing to recommend your training/methods.

Sincerely,
Zola Jean Hoey

Three years ago we rescued our second dog. She had lots of issues and even though we had done obedience school more than a couple of times, it just didn't seem to work. We have boarded our dogs at Blaine Kennels many times and Dale Westerberg, the owner, said he could help. I was skeptical but willing to go through the special behavior training.

Dale worked with her for about 30 minutes, gave me instructions, and the results were immediate. I used the training program daily for two weeks on both of our dogs, and then went for a second session. The change in both dogs was unbelievable: Both are walking at heel and sitting on command (one dog with no leash). No bolting through the door to get in and out of the house. Staying in place until released.

We love our dogs, and having them really well behaved made all the difference in the world.

Thank you,
Vickie Gay

My husband and I have a two-year-old yellow lab named Hudson. He is a wonderful family pet, but his energy and curiosity for the world has made life stressful at times. He jumps on people and furniture; he pulls when walking on a leash and doesn't come when called. He knows commands but doesn't listen when he is distracted. We tried puppy classes and obedience training using positive rewards. We tried the gentle leader and the pinch collar to help but these measures were not enough for us to be in control. With a baby on the way, we decided to look into more intensive training to give us peace of mind and Hudson some manners. We talked with several trainers and decided that Blaine Kennels had a unique training program that offered one-on-one training with our dog while he stayed with for four weeks. After Hudson had completed their program, the trainers showed my husband and I how to continue the training at home. Our dog is still the loving and playful family pet, but he knows he has limits and needs to listen. I can walk my dog without being pulled, we can eat a meal without him begging at our sides, and he listens to us regardless of distractions. I was impressed with Blaine Kennels training system and commitment to providing results that last. Thank you.

I cannot thank you and your staff enough for my wonderful dog. He was a good dog before, but now he is a great trained dog. Your staff did a top-notch job training Buddy. Buddy now comes when called, heels, sits, and the place (stay) training… can't say enough good stuff about that little jewel. Not only does Buddy listen to just my husband or me, he also responds to the kids' commands and the neighbor kids' commands (like off or sit or come). We went from being leashed (or gone) to going for daily runs with no leash. I cannot thank you all enough. Life is a lot less stressful with a trained pup.

Since working with Dale Westerberg and his dog training method, my dog no longer takes Me on a walk. My two-year-old black Labrador would pull me and stop wherever he wanted. Now, after implementing the simple skills learned from this method, I finally can take my dog on a walk and enjoy it.

Duke's Story -

A year and a half ago, we decided to get a dog for our children. Really, it was for our daughter. She had wanted a dog for years, and her lucky day had finally arrived. My husband chose this adorable, chubby black lab, and we named him Duke.

At first this little puppy was easy to take on walks. It was as he got older and larger that it became challanging. Duke decided to take me on walks! I tried to show him I was the boss, but he didn't always see it that way!

We finished having our back yard enclosed so he'd have a safe area to play in, but we soon found out that getting out of the gate without Duke wasn't always easy. We couldn't open the gate without him trying to get out. On many occasions, the kids would have to climb the fence. Thank goodness Duke doesn't jump the fence. At least, not yet!

Well, I decided that it would be great to have a well-trained dog, and that Duke and I would both benefit from it. My husband called The Dog Squad. So, we discussed it, and Duke was going to school! Yes! I WAS THRILLED!

The day came to pick up Duke. He was coming home! As we were approaching the building, there was this black lab standing outside. No leash and so well-behaved. Could that be our Duke? Yes! IT WAS HIM!

Sending him to Dog Squad Training was the best thing we could have done (and worth every penny!) We sent him for basic obedience, and what a huge difference it has made. He came back to us so mature! My children are no longer climbing the fence. I put him in a sit position, open the gate, and he'll stay. (This was once a huge problem!) Now I take Duke for walks not Duke walking me. He walks perfectly and pays total attention to me regardless of distrations.

I can't imagine life before Duke. He's part of our family. We all love him dearly, and his unconditional love for us goes unsaid.

Dale, you've been just wonderful. You've always been available to help us and have definitely gone the extra mile. Thanks so much for all your help! We really appreciate it!

It has been 3 weeks now and our Finnegan---a former monster 2 year-old Irish Terrier. Is now our little couch potato angel. We have previously tried clicker, pincher, and Cesar Milanesque style training to no avail. This is a dog that can run 8 miles with my wife and comeback still hyper and gettin' into things. He has gone from 20 hours of kennel crate time to about 6 hours. He now sleeps in our bed with us. We live in a townhome and could not find any means to keep him out of trouble--daily walks, bones, running---he was still a monster. Now after Tiffany worked her magic---the guy is awesome and we finally got the dog we wanted for 2 years. The training probably saved us 75k from not needing to move to a house with a yard--townhome life and daily walks are just fine. It has been crazy--how solid the results have been. Apparently Finnegan was the most diffficult case Tiffany has had in years---imagine a Wheaton on caffeine---that is an Irish Terrier. Now he is our little buddy. Thanks guys.
